Public and trauma operating happens at Westmead Hospital. Dr Piper is also accredited at the Mater Hospital, North Sydney, for private surgery on request. You can book online through HealthEngine, by phone on 1800 746 853, or by email to reception. A current GP referral is required for Medicare rebates.
For your appointment, please bring your referral, Medicare card, health fund details, and any imaging (x-ray, MRI, CT, ultrasound) you have had on the affected shoulder or elbow.

Westmead Hospital

Public-system patients, on-call trauma, and complex upper-limb cases. Greater western Sydney referral catchment.
Westmead Hospital is a public hospital. Patients are referred to the orthopaedic clinic through the public-system pathway. Trauma cases are admitted via the emergency department. There are no private consultations or private bookings at Westmead; for those, please contact the Lakeview practice.

Mater Hospital, North Sydney
Part of the St Vincent's Health Australia group, on Sydney's lower north shore.
Dr Piper is accredited at the Mater Hospital and undertakes private surgery there on request, particularly for patients on the lower north shore who prefer the Mater to Lakeview. All consultations remain at Lakeview, Norwest. To arrange a Mater procedure, mention the preference at booking and reception will coordinate.

Fees and rebates
Fees vary by appointment type and length. Most consultations attract a Medicare rebate when a current GP referral is provided. For a quote and out-of-pocket estimate before your appointment, please contact reception.
Workers compensation and CTP (third-party) claims are accepted with approved insurer details.
